What is the VI Peel?

The VI Peel is a type of chemical peel that is safe enough to use on all skin types but effective enough to fight back against most of the signs of aging. This peel is a minimally invasive way to improve the appearance of your skin with little to no downtime and discomfort.

The VI Peel can be used to address:

  • Hyperpigmentation
  • Melasma
  • Sun damage
  • Uneven skin tone and texture
  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Mild acne
  • Acne scars
  • Enlarged pores

Best of all, the VI Peel is safe enough to be used even on sensitive areas like the eyes, neck, chest, and hands.

How Does VI Peel Work?

The VI Peel is made of five different acids. These include:

  • TCA (Trichloroacetic acid). This acid stimulates collagen growth.
  • Retin-A. This acid is derived from Vitamin C. It is used to combat wrinkles and fine lines.
  • Salicylic Acid. This acid works as an effective exfoliant.
  • Phenol. This acid has anesthetic properties that help cleanse the surface of the skin.
  • Vitamin C (Ascorbic acid). This acid has both antioxidant and exfoliating properties.

When used together, these acids work synergistically, increasing each others' effectiveness.

What Can I Expect from a VI Peel?

Each VI Peel takes a short 30-45 minutes to complete. Following a VI Peel Boston patients should expect to be fully recovered from the peel in a week. The initial peeling process usually takes between 3-5 days. During this period of time, moisturizers can be used to help improve the appearance of the flaking that occurs.
