If the signs of aging start to creep up on several corners of your face yet you are not so psyched about the idea of getting a facelift or any type of surgery, microdermabrasion could be the right cosmetic choice for you.
What is microdermabrasion?
This treatment does not involve any cuts or incisions on the face. No, it does not involve chemicals to “peel” away the surface of your face too. Instead, it is a cosmetic procedure that makes use of microcrystals to promote the removal of the outermost layer of your facial skin where the dry and dead skin cells accumulate. By doing so, the production of collagen in the skin is triggered, resulting to a healthier, younger-looking face.
What happens during your microdermabrasion appointment?
Once it is determined that you are an ideal candidate for the treatment, you will then undergo the procedure. The treatment is simple and may even be done over your lunch hour. Your medical aesthetician starts off by directing a stream of microcrystals that are made of aluminum oxide through a hand piece. These crystals are responsible for exfoliating the skin while mild suction is applied to remove skin debris and used crystals. During the procedure, expect a slight warm sensation in the treated site. There is nothing to fear though. Microdermabrasion is a painless, highly tolerable treatment.
