Rhinoplasty procedures have become relatively commonplace. In contrast to a couple decades ago, the procedure is accepted by society, is accessible, and affordable. But just because nose jobs are more popular doesn’t mean you shouldn’t ask yourself some questions before scheduling one.

What exactly is your motivation? Plastic surgery should never be considered for reasons of depression, anger, jealously, a sense of inferiority, or similar reasons. It needs to be for you, only you, and for 100% positive reasons. Ask yourself whether anyone else has influenced your decision. Cosmetic procedures should never be sought at the request of partners or other peers.

In a similar vein, if you get the feeling that the surgeon you’ve approached for the job has influenced your decision, you should walk away. Likewise, unless you’ve allowed yourself plenty of time – weeks, months, or years – to consider the idea, you risk rushing into something you’re not 100% sure of.

Finally, you need to consider exactly what you’re expecting from your Rhinoplasty procedure? If you’re expecting this procedure to solve all the issues with your appearance, you’re probably due for disappointment.

If, however, you see the procedure as a way to augment your appearance and burnish your self-esteem, then you are probably ready.
