Simple, one-step cosmetic procedures can target specific skin concerns, but they are indeed specialized in that they don’t address the overall skin condition. The HydraFacial skincare treatment is different because it not only cleanses and exfoliates, but it also extracts damaged cells and foreign material. This treatment also infuses nutrients into the skin to accelerate the growth of healthy replacement tissue. When our Boston-area clients ask about how the HydraFacial system works, we outline the procedure during a consultation. This allows us to more fully inform the client about how HydraFacial® differs from other skincare treatments. The best part about this skincare procedure is that it can be customized to fit the wants and needs of the individual.
We use a stand-alone machine connected to a series of hoses and pumps. The machine automatically mixes serums for the infusion step. Before the skin is nourished, however, it is thoroughly cleansed and an exfoliation process is completed.
The first step involves the use of a so-called deplaning tool. It is similar to a rotary toothbrush and is used to polish the skin surface. Pores are opened up and any dead or damaged skin cells are swept away. This is followed by a gentle peel treatment. A mild acid is applied to the skin and allowed to sit for a set amount of time before being washed away. This makes it easier for the vacuum and extraction procedure to accomplish the task of removing oily deposits, clogs in the pores, and the uppermost layer of skin.
The extraction step involves the use of a vacuum hose attached to a special tip. After the extraction is completed, another hose with a tip is used to deliver a special serum that contains antioxidants, peptides, and other beneficial nutrients.
Immediately after the HydraFacial treatment is completed, the skin has a more radiant glow, and the surface appears much smoother. However, the benefits keep on coming. In the weeks that follow, the skin will become more evenly toned, and small discolorations such as acne scars and age spots will become far less visible. The treatment also helps to diminish the appearance of dynamic wrinkles such as crow’s feet and smile lines.
The treatment steps can be altered slightly so that special concerns can be addressed. Some of our clients in the Boston area are more worried about damage from sun exposure while others are concerned about brittleness or dullness. The treatment can be customized to best correct these problems.
In Boston HydraFacial treatment is only becoming more and more popular and for good reason. It’s like nothing you’ve ever experienced before, and after you have it performed, you’ll wonder why you waited so long to try it.
