Surgery: Wrinkles and frown lines often first appear in the brow and forehead area. A forehead lift or brow lift can smooth out the wrinkles and correct drooping brows and heavy lids to provide a younger, friendlier, more youthful appearance. A brow lift also has the ability to reveal a hidden upper lid. This procedure is frequently performed in conjunction with eyelid procedures, however, yields a spectacular result on its own.
Procedure: Two incisions are made in the hairline, hidden from obvious view. The tissue is freed from the underlying structure and pulled upward. The forehead skin is then re-draped and a smooth, taut skin is revealed.
Post-Operative Recovery: Swelling and bruising are the most common side effects associated with this procedure. Patients usually can return to work after a week, however some may choose to take more time.
