Wrinkles and frown lines often first appear in the brow and forehead area. A forehead lift or brow lift can smooth out the wrinkles and correct drooping brows and heavy lids to provide a younger, friendlier, more youthful appearance. A brow lift also has the ability to reveal a hidden upper lid. This procedure is frequently performed in conjunction with eyelid procedures, however, yields a spectacular result on its own.
Two incisions are made in the hairline, hidden from obvious view. The tissue is freed from the underlying structure and pulled upward. The forehead skin is then re-draped and smooth, taut skin is revealed.
Swelling and bruising are the most common side effects associated with this procedure. Patients usually can return to work after a week, however, some may choose to take more time.
