Are you self-conscious about the appearance of your upper arms? There are a few things you can do to improve your appearance and boost your confidence. Here are some to consider:

Build Muscle

Improving your muscle tone is a great place to start, regardless of whether or not you’ll need to take additional steps. The following exercises can help you build stronger, leaner looking arms.

  • Triceps Extensions: Stand with your back straight and your feet shoulder width apart. Hold an 8-10 pound dumbbell with both hands and lift it over your head. Push the dumbbell up over your head until your arms are straight and then lower it until your elbows form 90-degree angles. Repeat for 10-12 reps.
  • Dips: You can use a weight bench or a sturdy chair for this exercise. Sit at the very edge and them move to support your weight with both hands and lower your body until your buttocks are almost touching the ground. Then raise your body back up until you are parallel with the chair or bench.
  • Pushups: Pushups are simple and accessible to almost everyone. You can do adjusted pushups on your knees, traditional pushups, or incline pushups. Start with your hands on the floor and your arms straight and lower your body until your arms create 90-degree angles. Then push back up. This will strengthen your shoulders, core, and especially your arms.

Eliminate Excess Fat

If you have good skin elasticity, but you still have stubborn fat that you can’t get rid of, liposuction may be able to remove the stubborn extra fat to give you slimmer arms. Ask about this option if you’re interested.

Remove Sagging Skin

Changes to your body can sometimes leave you with excess skin and flabby looking upper arms. This is particularly true for people who’ve achieved significant weight loss. After all the hard work you’ve done to get healthy, you deserve a body that matches. Brachioplasty, also known as an brachioplasty is a procedure that can remove sagging skin and excess fat to give you slimmer, sleeker arms.
