CoolTone is an ideal way to approach sculpting the muscles in your abdomen, thighs, and buttocks. However, it is not a treatment for weight loss.
Thus, CoolTone is normally recommended for someone at or near their weight goal who would like a more athletic build to their body. You should also be in reasonably good health, not suffering from seizures, and not have any active bleeding. When you come in for your consultation for CoolTone Boston Body Contouring Specialist, Sabrina, will examine you and review your medical history to make sure you’re eligible.
The CoolTone device has a box shape with a screen and an applicator shaped like a paddle. During the treatment, our master aestheticians will take the paddle and place them firmly on the desired treatment area(s). This applicator creates a magnetic field, which produces an energy current that passes your skin and focuses on your muscles, which are better conductors of this magnetic energy.
This creates thousands of small, involuntary contractions in your muscles, strengthening the fibers and improving definition. While there are different levels of intensity, moderate to high levels provide better results, and you can feel your muscles contracting as they are stimulated by the CoolTone applicator. This outpatient procedure normally takes from 20-30 minutes to complete.
CoolTone is an outpatient procedure conducted in-office, and each treatment lasts only 30 minutes. Because this is non-invasive, there is no recovery time needed, and you can return to work, school, or other obligations right after your scheduled procedure.
CoolTone is most effective as a repeat treatment. While there is no recovery time, results may begin to develop within 2-4 weeks after your initial treatment, but you will continue to see improvements in your muscle definition and muscle mass for up to six months.
While most Boston CoolTone patients choose to start with 4-6 treatments, many also choose to have follow-up treatments after their initial sessions to maintain their results. We recommend 6-8 treatment sessions, twice weekly, for optimal results. It’s also important to exercise regularly and balance your diet in order to continue seeing results.

If you would like to strengthen and tone the muscles in your abdomen, buttocks, and thighs and are at or near your goal weight, the CoolTone may be the right solution for you. Not only will it help firm your target area, but it will also create more defined muscles.
No. While you will feel contractions and spasms during the treatment, these are mild and do not cause pain. Someone with less muscle mass may find they are more sensitive to muscle spasms and experience a decrease in energy.
The cost of CoolTone changes depending on which parts of the body you choose to have treated if you treat more than one area or the number of treatments you end up getting. CoolTone is considered an elective procedure because it’s normally done for cosmetic reasons, not medical ones. Insurance providers do not cover elective procedures, so you will need to cover the costs yourself. However, we offer several treatment and membership packages, and offer financing and payment plans to fit your aesthetic and financial needs.
